Its a bit weird, but I think a book version of ChessPublishing.com would be a good thing.
You could have the authors of the different sections write up a table like in the popular 'Nunn's Chess Openings' of a few years ago.
Have brief introductions and 'basics' of a couple of pages for each major system and then the theory.
There are too many Starting Out type books. There hasn't been a really good one-volume reference in years.
Personally, I'd love to having a single reference book with a Dragon section by Ward, Nimzo by Emms, French by McDonald, etc.
Also, it could be supplimented by Forums (which are already free for guests).
Finally, the book would also generate additional revenue for the website. Its a great advert and a good old-fashioned "two birds with one stone" kind of thing.
Anyway, if you guys print it up I'll certainly buy a copy.
Now I just need a few million of my friends to commit to the same...
Cheers,
Nietzsche
