Okay, clearing my cache and deleting temporary internet several times to no avail, I unplugged my modem and plugged it back in. That seemed to have done the trick. Problem solved now. Thanks for your suggestions folks.  But I must say I am none the wiser. Huh

Yes, clearing the cache was one of the first things that I did. I have tried all of the other obvious stuff too but nothing seems to work. Whenever I try from that computer it immediately redirects to this link:

http://node13.myserverhosts.com/suspended.page/

Really strange. Any experts out there??

Another one is to press CTRL+F5 while viewing chesspub.com.. That will force the browser to ignore its cache and fetch the page from the internet

Hmm ... one trick you might try is to type in the full domain name in your address window -- www.chesspub.com -- and if that doesn't work try www.chesspublishing.com. ;

It is probably a problem with your browser cache - the browser keeps dragging up the old page from the hard disk rather than bothering to find a new one. Try refreshing a few times, or clearing out the cache. Also, one of the members had a similar problem with their proxy server. Smiley

I have noticed that in the first couple of days that the Forum has been back, there has been a much smaller number of new posts and threads each day. Is this just a coincidence or perhaps it is because most of the regulars online have stopped going online, assuming that the Forum would be down for even longer than it was?

Whilst pondering this issue, I considered briefly the possibility of the ChessPub Forum merging with another chess forum to increase the number of members significantly, although I personally doubt that there is any need for that.

Are your Internet settings for both computers the same? For example, you might not be able to access the site if you have blocked cookies from entering your computer from the Internet, or something along the lines of that.

Okay, the problem seems to be with me For some reason I cannot access the website on my home PC.  This is why I thought it was still down intermittentely. This is really weird. I am in my house now working from my work lap top. I have no problem accessing the site here. However I go upstairs and try to access it from my home based desk top and I keep getting this same message about site being suspected etc, etc. 

I am at a lost. Both computers are using the same ADSL connection and to make sure i have the site correct, i am clicking on the link from the Chesspublishing.com website.  Huh Yet on one computer I am getting on and on the other at the exact same time, I cannot get on

Really? It might be because the DNS server change takes some time to propagate, but if this continues I will simply have to move to another server. All these hosting services advertise 99.9% up time (or thereabouts).

Don't worry, we have moved. The new one says that they support this YaBB Forum software, so there shouldn't be any problems, but you never know! Undecided

The plug was pulled on the Forum a couple of days ago because "there was too much legitimate traffic"!! In other words we were using too much resources because the site was becoming too popular! Huh
The host called this 'abuse' (!!) and wouldn't let me back on for 24 hours, only to stop the site again almost immediately after!
Needless to say I found another, hopefully better, site, finally managed to get a backup from the previous hosts and have just finished installing and setting up permissions etc. Smiley
