Oddly enough, I own this book, but was looking for something a little more up to date and comprehensive.

The first thing I would think of is an Andrew Soltis book, "A Black Defensive System (for the rest of your chess career)".

I've just started to learn the Slav & Caro.

Can anyone recommend a useful source of ideas to enable me to play 1...c6 and 2...d5 against flank openings such as the English and Reti?

Many Thanks!
