If you play the Najdorf a la Scheveningen (ie 6...e6 against anything) you might consider 2...e6.
But it's not so clear to me that 1.e4 c5 2.Nc3 a6 is that pointless. It probably is if Black continues with a fianchetto or a restrained setup with d6 and e6. But there is also 1.e4 c5 2.Nc3 a6 3.g3 e6 intending an early ...d5. Of course White might try 3.Nge2 instead, idea d6 4.g3 and e6 4.d4 again.

Hi all,
As a Najdorf player how should one tackle the Grand Priz and the closed??  If I play an early d6 then Grand Priz is good.  If I play a6 then I think a6 is a pointless move in the closed.
