Bootcamp (really just partitions your hard disk and lets you install windows, and adds drivers for mac hardware) is much better if you want to actually do anything intensive such as heavy analysis with the latest engines or playing computer games.

No, as far as I am aware there is no way of using CBV files on a Mac or Linux machine without running ChessBase in an emulator. Sad
I can only think that ChessBase don't consider the two markets sufficiently big to justify developing separate products.
