I understand that this arises from a certain gap between the purposes of the updates and what I, at least, think should be the purpose of the PDF files. The latter, I think, should not only refer to material from updates but should provide a reasonable summary, from a strong player's perspective, of current theory.
The PDF files are simply intended to be a means of seeing where all the analysed games fit-in, theory-wise. If lines are not covered that is because they have not been examined in the updates.
It is possible to make them into more, no doubt, but would involve either increasing subscriptions substantially or selling them separately.

Technically, it would be very good if the games referenced were reachable by clicking on a link, as they are in the updates. The text is colored, as if were a link, but this doesn't work, at least for me.
The PDF files were intended to be printed out, so there doesn't seem much point making the game references into links that bring up web pages (although it is possible). If you look at the playable eBooks the links do just that, however.
