Happy new year Dragoneers.

Sure there are a few days left but I make this post anyway,

I think we can have our usual summering of this years developments.

Unfortunately I am very busy at work these days so I don't remember if some games or ideas where played this year or last year.

The Dragon has lost some popularity at Super GM level but are still played there from time to time, including by players who never played the Dragon before.

The most odd game I seen was probely Svidler-Ivanchuk where Ivanchuk played Qc7 against Bc4 Yugoslav and escaped with a draw.

Other games I remember are in some none critical lines like Kramnik-Aronian where black easily equalized and got a draw. A kind of interesting game is also Nepomniachtchi-Nakamura where black was pressing for a win in a none critical line. A other game that comes to my mind is also Ivanchuk-Radjabov where black made a couple of mistakes in g3 system and white got a strong bind at queenside and won.

New books and discs

* The only book I can think of is Schiller new edition of "Secrets of the Sicilian Dragon". The books name is "The Sicilian Dragon new and revisited". This book is not worth the money if one has original book. No new themes and ideas that developed since first book are mentioned. Only new is that the book is easier to read and a extra chapter with exercises.

* The discs "The Killer Dragon" by Wiliams has been realised. I ordered my copy today so I will not get it until next year. I have no idea if the disc is good or not. Has anyone here got the discs?

In 2012 I am sure everyone is waiting for "Chess Developments: The Sicilian Dragon".

For my part I feel like I have played to many Dragon games but I will not switch opening until summer 2012 if I like a coming book about another opening.
