Richard Palliser in his "Fighting The Anti-Sicilians", 2007 book says that Najdorf players can play 2...d6, but must be prepared for 3.f4 (a good Grand Prix subvariation for white). So they should counsider 2...a6!? instead..  Roll Eyes

Ftacnik covers this in his Najdorf book (Grandmaster Repertoire 6), and since they are both Quality Chess publications I dare say they didn't want to duplicate or overlap their coverage.

It is actually 2...Nf6.

This is a nice and relatively brief repertoire against c3.  After 3 e5 Nd5, he covers
4 Bc4 using 4...Nb6
4 Nf3 with 4...e6
4 d4 cxd4 5 Qxd4 e6 6 Nf3 Nc6 7 Qe4 f5!
5 cxd4 d6 6 Nf3 e6
The last one is his thoroughly discussed main line, where he advocates Nc6 instead of the early Bd7-c6 maneuver

Somehow the forum seems to have missed a thread on this book, which is out several months now. At least I couldn´t find anything with the search-function.

I am curious about Aagards suggestions on the 2.c3-sicilian after 1.e4 c5 2.c3 Nc6. Which lines are recommended here?
