Thanks, anything I should know about your browser or OS, or anything else unusual with your setup that I can pass on?
Can you also try going to http://www.yabbforum.com/cgi-bin/community/YaBB.pl to see if you experience the same problem there, too?

I'm sorry, it's not a matter of liking or not liking. I'm sure I can work with whatever works. The problem is, this doesn't work. Everything is jumbled. It's a mish-mash. Icons and buttons are difficult to find. They are overlaid or overrun with other text and icons. I see that a few others have mentioned it as well as me.

I have access to 3 different computers with a number of browsers running on each, and they all look perfect to me, no problems at all. Presumably those who wrote the software have also tested it on a range of browsers (inc. mobiles).
If anyone has real problems seeing the site then please tell me what those problems are exactly, which browser/OS you are using, whether you have an unusual setup in some way, and maybe send a screenshot, and I will get in touch with the YaBB guys and try to sort it out. Smiley

Is this latest update still a work in progress?

No, It's been finished for a while, it was only in Maintenance Mode a few hours, but then I moved to another server just to complicate matters.  Roll Eyes
I like the look myself, but as soon as I can get hold of some alternative templates I will add them for those who don't like it.

I think there must be a way for you to view the page with different browsers to see how really bad it is. Maybe this will help:

There are a lot of new toys for me to play with now (!), one of which is that I can add images to the boards. I've just added Victor's pic to 1 e4 e5 as a try, it's not the right size but I just wonder whether this is a good idea .. or not? Undecided

Is this latest update still a work in progress? It's been a few days since the site went down and came back up with an "update". Since the update the site looks all jumbled and is difficult to read and/or use.  Shocked  Angry  Cry

I am using the Chrome browser on a Windows machine.

Sorry I mean still "not" getting time and date info which are useful. I am at work and using Firefox and there are no time and date info as well.  Angry

Is this a setting issue? Should I be ticking a box somewhere?  Undecided

Ah, I've just got an answer from the YaBB expert and she asks which Date/Time Format you are using in your User Cp ('Options')?
GeneM too?

I don't think opening theory is moving that fast that everything written more than 3 months ago is useless  Wink

It depends which opening! Wink
Anyway, it is only a quick search, and looks in all the sections. For a deeper search with more options (a particular section, for instance, or a longer period) there is always the main search.

I am still getting time and date info on the posts in Safari

Is that good, or do you mean 'not' getting?

Incidentally, has anyone used those bookmark icons at the bottom of the page, do they work?

I suppose it depends what you are looking for. We used to have it pointing to Google, but there is a new search system with the upgraded software and so I thought I'd try that for a while. At the moment I have it set to 3 months, but I can certainly increase this?

The 'Disable UBBC and Smilies:' checkbox keeps getting checked for me in this section when I use the 'Quote' button, does this happen to anyone else? Angry

I could email the screenshot of the badly messed up forum UI, if I had an email address to send it to.

Could you send it to support@chesspublishing.com please?
