Here is another funny thing:

I usually open threads by pressing ctrl + click on the links to open the thread in an new tab. That worked before and normally works in any browser. However, after the update I think, it won't work. Well, it actually didn't work at first, worked for sometime a few weeks ago, and now it doesn't again... Any idea what happened?

I just tried that (usually I just click with the wheel) and it worked in Chrome at least. Maybe you've changed your settings or your browser has changed the default perhaps...

It worked after changing my Time format, thanks. Maybe I had it set to a time format that got removed by some forum update.

In the options screen, it didn't show anything after "Your displayed time:" either, but after changing the time format it did. Even when I then set it back to what seemed to be my original setting (the first one). That's behavior I would expect if I didn't have it set at all, or if my setting wasn't known anymore.

Also the text above quotes changes from "Scarblac wrote yesterday at 14:32:38:" to "Quote:"

Ctrl-F5 doesn't help. Disabling NoScript, Ghostery and AdBlock also doesn't help.

I don't see any date/time information anywhere, not on the threads and not on the individual messages. No way to tell when something was posted anymore.

I can assure you the date/time information is definitely still there, Smiley please try clearing your browser cache (F5 or Ctrl + F5) as it seems your browser is hoarding old images and data.
If that doesn't work you can try changing your date form in your User CP preferences.

One of those things you never really notice until it's gone.

I can't replicate this on any of my browsers, try refreshing your browser cache (F5 or ctrl + F5).

Perhaps as expected, that clears the problem.

Keying in www.chesspub.com on its own now redirects to http://www.ultimatewebhosting.co.uk/.

Yes, I put the redirect back in for good, so all the old links should work now.

...
http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1306923212/0  now creates a 404 error.

Is there some way to fix this, or are all the old links now defunct?

Ah, interesting, it's not the new format that is causing the problem, I think it's the fact that I changed the path from http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl to http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/chess/YaBB.pl to make it more difficult for spammers to find the Forum.
So, if you change 'yabb2' to 'chess' in the link it works normally.
Maybe I should put the 'yabb2' to 'chess' redirect back on, although it rather defeats the object. Changing all the old links seems a bit drastic. Undecided
Any thoughts?

The new format has a problem. The old addresses that are used in countless threads to reference other threads no longer work.

Here's an example:
Fllg wrote on 01/26/14 at 11:16:54:
According to Lysyj & Ovetchkin in "The Open Games for Black" from 2012 after 7.0-0 Nge7 "White will be forced to fight for equality" while they consider 7.Qb3 to be "White´s best move" and end their analysis with equality.

Though this book is written for the black side I think anyone interested in the Evans should consult it.

There has also been an interesting discussion on Chesspub in this thread: http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1306923212/0

http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1306923212/0 ; now creates a 404 error.

Is there some way to fix this, or are all the old links now defunct?
