I have been busy lately and have only had a short look at your suggestion(s)...

4-,Nc6!? is a very typical Leningrader move! -although a search a chesslab and chesslive only came up with a total of four games (all drawn!) continuing with the most testing variation in my eyes - 5.d5...

5. d5 Nb4!? is a brave & provokative continuation by black. My first impression was that black may be "too" brave, but I dont really see how white can take advantage of it....
6.Nc4 can't be critical...Black seams to have rather easy play here.

6.c4 must be the move. The early b4 push in Gheorghiu's analysis seams to only help black. Maybe white just should continue with simple development: 6.c4 a5 7.b3!? when Nb4 normally dont belong there....Hmm Undecided

Ne5 Khenkin-Kindermann, Dortmund 1993 and other games) 6.c4 (6.Nc4 c6! 7.d6 b5! 8.Bd2 bc 9.Bxb4 ed 10.Bxd6 Bxd6 11.Qxd6 Qe7 with slight black advantage, Szabo-Gheorghiu, Budapest 1970) 6... a5 7.a3 Na6 8.b4 Bg7 9.Rb1 0-0 10.Ngf3 ab 11.ab c5!= Gheorghiu (Quoted by R. Bellin in "Winning with the Dutch").

A critical and effective way to play against the Leningrad is to play e4.....

One of the most direct ways is:

1.d4 f5 2.g3 Nf6 3.Bg2 g6 4.Nd2
4.Nc3 may be answered by d5...(although I would probably prefer Bg7 as in my main variation...)
4-,Bg7 5.e4!? See Diagram.

Kindermann gives (in the english edition of his book):
5.-,fxe4 6.Nxe4 Nxe4 7.Bxe4 d5 8.Bg2 Nc6
9.Ne2 Bg4 10.c3 d5(!, Kindermann) 
black gambiting his d5 pawn.

One of the games (Agdestein, Santo Roman)mentioned, actually came from the move order 9.c3 e5 10.dxe5 Nxe5

I'm not really comfortable with giving this d5-pawn away...  Tongue
White could easily end a pawn up (or go down in fire...  Grin)

What is black's most accurate plan against 10.Bxd5 & Qxd5?(Agdestein move order)

Is there some alternative less risky plan available for black?

Does any other books cover 5.e4!?
(I also have Pedersen's book, but it doesnt...)
