Max doesn't have enough time to fulfill his Moderating duties, so if anyone is interested in taking over one or two of his sections please write to me. Cool
Many thanks to Max for all his work over the years. Smiley

I'd love to take the Dragons forum. The Dragon is the backbone of my opening repertoire and I visit the page frequently. However, I only visit the forums once or twice per day so if that is a problem then I'm sorry I cannot do it. I can certainly check it after I get home from school and then once or twice in the evening.

Please welcome alumbrado/Mark as a new moderator of four sections/boards of the forum: Nimzo/Benoni, Flank Openings, 1.d4 d5, and 1.e4 e5.

As of now, he is in full controll of those sections. So, be carefull and behave Smiley

alumbrado is a great example of a perfect candidate for such a position.

We have only one position left, so, if you are interested, hurry up.

I am happy to volunteer for the Flank Openings and/or Nimzo/Benoni sections.  These openings form a key part of my repertoire and I play them often, so I tend to spend a lot of time looking at these forums and the analysis that people send in.

I have also contributed quite a lot of comments to these sections, and to the forum generally - in fact, other than your good self, I am the most frequent contributor to the forum (OK, OK, I'm a loud mouth who can't keep his opinions to himself!!)  8)

I would like a bit more information about what is required before I commit myself though!  Undecided

Regards

Mark

Looking for moderators

Hi all,

I am looking for couple active forum members who would like to be a moderator of some forum's sections.

This is a volunteer position but will give you a new perspective and experience. This position may later grow into some higher responsibilities.

Note that a moderator is not an administrator. However, a moderator will get extra functions and access to more options to be able to controll the forum.

The main function of the moderator is to be frequently online within the forum and respond to general questions of the members to move a topic from one place to another and to watch for any offensive messages to keep peace in our lovely chess place called forum. Moderator will be able to edit/delete any message within the forum within the sections he/she is responsible for.

In case of some questionable decisions, a moderator will contact admin of the forum (me) for additional help or to drfaw and admin attention to different actions/happenings in the forum.

Overall, it will not take any extra time from you if you are online in the forum frequently anyway. You would be something like an extension of admin.

If you are interested to be a moderator, please post your message in this topic explaining why you would be a great moderator and help to the forum. After a short period of time, all the applicants will be reviewed by admin with some possible voting later to choose the best candidates for the role of a moderator.

At this point, we are looking to fill two positions. So, only two moderators will be chosen from all the applicants. We might add more moderators later.

To be considered for the position, you have to have at least 10 messages posted by now within the forum so we can see you are active. Don't forget that you have to be a registered member of the forum and not a guest.

Hurry to post your messages, the positions will be filled soon.

In your post, mention what kind of sections/boards you would like to be responsible for or what sections you  visit the most during the last period of time. Also, mention if you are just a forum member or the paying member of the ChessPublishing.com site as well.

You can see description of several actions that you will have access to once you become a moderator at http://altmax.com/YaBBHelp/modact.html

Thank you.
