I tried this line in lots of blitz games with good result.

Until my opponent started playing 5...c5!? instead. This is incidentally also how the hungarian who invented the Icelandic gambit played it, but I think he preferred 3...c5 and then ...e6 unless they played dxc6 of course  Grin

After 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Nf6 3.c4 I am doubting what
to play, permitting the Panov with 3...c6 or the
Icelandic Gambit with 3...e6.
In the latter the critical line is in my opinion 4.dxe6
Bxe6 5.Nf3 Qe7 6.Qe2 Nc6 7.d4 and now Black
must proceed with Bg4 or o-o-o.
What are the opinions about these moves?

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.
