I am a fan of  the Dragon Defence, and I have played it since forever. Even there is a game on page 41 (Barahona-Moreno, Peru 1997) in Edward Dearing's Book ("Play the Sicilian Dragon").

ok, what is spectacular about these games? First of all, I played nearly all moves 'à tempo' for the simple reason that I prepared this entire line against an opponent of our clubchampionship. I considered 13.h5 as critical for the whole variation in the chinese dragon but alas there is no real consensus what black can do best Qb6 or Qa5, so i checked some variations myself by fritz after Qa5 with as the mainline ... the games played here. Of course 23.Rxd6 is a blunder, but black seems to me also a little better after the correct Qh4-d5 Qd4-Rfb7.

My conclusion is that all moves are very logical for both white and black after Qa5 and that black fases no problems in this line. Black should not be afraid for 13.h5!? after Qa5!

The solution, as I understand, is to save the pgn text from here as a textfile (with extension *.pgn), and then to open it with ChessBase?! 
And, to post pgn here, just open your pgn with text editor and select/copy all the text and paste it here.
But: is it possible to attach files to Forum messages? I guess - not, otherwise it would have been too simple 

i suppose on cxb3 black plays first Nxd5 followed by Qa5 and if Kb1 black can use the typical manoeuvre Rb6-a6

eg.
17.cxb3-Nxd5 18.exd5-Qa5 19.Kb1 (on h5, Bf5 is seems very strong) -Bf5+ 20.Ka1-Rb6 and black threatens Qxa2

hi everyone!

I'm quite new here (first post) but i read some topics here which were all very interesting. Especially the discussion about the Chinese variation attracted my attention. In our clubchampionship one of my nearest rivals plays the yougouslav attack with Bc4 so I wanted to take him by surprise with this unknown weapon.
Alas last fryday when we met he avoided my preparation and played 1.d4 . (A trompovsky which i was lucky to win)
Anyhow, during my preparation i discovered some very interesting variations in the Chinese which i will drop here to make this variation a little less unknown...
As the basic variations i used the variations posted by Da Costa Junior.
I checked all my variations with the use of Fritz but i didn't analyse it for hours... so there might be some mistakes in it.

1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 g6 6.Be3 Bg7 7.f3 0-0 8.Qd2 Nc6 9.Bc4 Bd7 10.0-0-0 Rb8!? 

The first variation i had some questions about was:

11.Nxc6!? bxc6 12.Bxa7 Rb7!? this seems more interesting to me than Rb4 since now black can try to use of the weakness b2 in some variations [12...Rb4÷ 13.Bb3 Qa5 14.Be3 Rfb8©] 13.Be3 Qa5 14.Bb3 this is undoubtly the best move here, but i asked myself what blacks attacking plan is if white plays something else like 

14.g4?! this variation was posted on another forum, if you let calculate fritz for some moments he comes up with the following refutation: 14...Bxg4 15.fxg4 Nxe4 16.Qd3 Bxc3 17.Bb3 Qxa2; 

14.Bh6!? this is an interesting reply by white, it seems quite logical to trade the dragon bishop 14...Bxh6 15.Qxh6 Rfb8 16.Rd3! an interesting defence black can take b2 but then his rook will be trapped (16.Bb3?! isn't really good after 16...c5! 17.h4 (17.Qg5 Qa6µ 18.Nd5 Nxd5 19.Bxd5 Bc6! 20.Bb3 c4-+) 17...c4 18.Bxc4 Rxb2-+; 16...Rxb2 17.Bb3 R8xb3 18.cxb3 Rxg2! and now black seems to have the upperhand after (18...Qa3?! 19.Kd1 Rxg2 (19...c5?! 20.Qc1) ; 19.Kb1 Nd5! (19...c5 20.Rd2 Rxd2 21.Qxd2 c4 22.bxc4 Qb4+ 23.Ka1 Qxc4 24.Rc1=) 20.Na4 c5 21.Rxd5 Bxa4 22.Rg5 (22.Qe3 Bb5 23.a4 Re2!-+) 22...Re2 23.Rh5 Re1+ 24.Rxe1 Qxe1+ 25.Kb2 Qe2+ 26.Kb1 gxh5 27.bxa4 Qxf3 28.Qg5+ Kf8-+] 

after 14.Bb3 play goes like: 14...Rfb8© i think this is the best move although Be6 is also interesting [14...Be6!? 15.Bh6!? (15.Bxe6 fxe6 16.Bh6 (16.Qd3 Nd7 17.Qc4 Rfb8 18.Qxe6+ Kf8 19.e5 Nc5 20.Bxc5 Qxc3!!) 16...Qb4 17.b3 Nxe4; 15...Bxh6 16.Qxh6 Bxb3 17.cxb3 (17.axb3? Qa1+ 18.Nb1? (18.Kd2 Qxb2 19.Rb1 Qa3 20.Ra1 Qc5³) 18...Ra8 19.Qd2 (19.c3 Ra2 20.Qd2 Rxb3) 19...Ra2 20.Qc3 Rba7-+; 17...Ra8 18.h4 Qh5 19.Qe3 Qe5 20.g4 Ra5 21.Kb1÷ it seems to me here that white has a little advantage but things are very unclear. What bothers me most is that i don't see an attacking plan for black(21.h5 g5) ] 15.Ne2 fritz gives this as the best move which seems a little strange to me [15.h4 c5 16.Bh6 (16.Nd5? Qxd2+ 17.Rxd2 Nxd5 18.exd5 c4³; 16.h5? c4 17.Bxc4 Rxb2 18.Bb3 R8xb3 19.cxb3 Rxd2-+) 16...c4!-+] 15...Qa6 16.Qd3 Qa5 17.Nc3 Be6³ ÷

another variation i analysed was:


11.h4 b5 12.Ndxb5 Ne5 13.Be2 Qa5 14.Nd4 Rfc8 The starting position if white takes the pawn on b5. Undoubtly this position is of great importance for the whole variation. To me it seems black has a very good game eg. [14...Qb4!? 15.Nb3 a5÷] 
15.g4?! after this move the original analysis of my countryman Henris gives the following interesting reply 15...Be6! 16.Nxe6 Rxb2! 17.Kxb2 Nxe4-+ and black wins, my question was, if white plays something like h5 if black still can use this manoeuvre? 

15.h5 this seemed to me the most logical reply by white 15...Be6!? this seems to work in this position too, although the position is quite a mess (15...Nxh5 according to fritz this move is fine for black but i don't really trust it 16.g4?! (16.f4 Ng4 17.f5 Qb6 18.b3 Nxe3 19.Qxe3 Bxd4 20.Rxd4 Nf4³) 16...Ng3-+ 17.Rh3 Rxb2 18.Kxb2 Nxe2-+; 16.Nxe6 isn't good after the usual reply (16.hxg6 this seems a better try 16...hxg6 17.Nxe6 (17.Bh6!? Bh8 18.Bf8 (18.Nxe6 Rxb2 19.Bf8! I played a game in the same line but it continued 18.Kb1 Nc6! 19.Bc4 Nb4! and black stands slightly better with the idea "d5".

Instead of 17.Qc2 white may choose other moves.
