You could check the following site:

http://www.abebooks.com/home/BARRIEELLEN/

(it's just a site I've found some time ago, haven't ordered anything from them though but it might be worth a check in the inventory since you're looking for a few specific books...)

The three books mentioned by Mortal Games are classics of course. My personal favourite though is Richtig Opfern by my hero RS. It was neglected for a long time, but the English translation a few years ago (The art of sacrifice) has changed this. I think everyone with attacking ambitions should own it.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

Hi,
I think, this is a good topic to discuss in the forum. Lets talk about great chess books in general, books who touch us, because of the good writing or because of our improvement. Anyone knows about links to stores on old books of chess? I begin this topic with these books:
Zurich 53 - David Bronstein
Botvinnik- Achieving the aim
Paul Morphy-The pride and sorrow of chess -David Lawson (David Mckay 1976!) -The best biography ever! This book can cost from 150 to 750 dol/euros! 400 pag.
Anyone knows were I can find this great books?
Another one but this time for people who love the history of chess sets and the evolution of the pieces is:
Victor Keats- Chessmen for collectors- Batsford. 3 volumes? I have one volume, but I have information that there are 3 volumes. Anyone knows were I can find this books?

It has been said that chess players are good at two things, Chess and Excuses.  It has also been said that Chess is where all excuses fail! In order to win you must dare to fail!
