Thanks Alumbrado.  Smiley

I'm still not registered at the moment, but I may well get in touch with Ruslan about it.

For what its worth, as we reached quite an intersting position around move 10/11, here is the game in full:

White: D. Lovell (1705) - Cardiff Knights
Black P. Kitchen (1749) - Cardiff Dragons

East Glam League Div 3

While I think Richard Palliser's Play 1.d4! recommends Nc3 against this move order (with Black committed to ...Be7), he suggests lines with Nbd2 as a way to take the sting out of various Black sidelines where ...Bb4 features (the Vienna, the Ragozin, and particularly the Cambridge Springs).

I can't actually offer you any analysis mind you, but if you wanted somewhere to look that might be the place to start.  Well worth lobbing an e-mail to Ruslan here as well - I am sure if you ask nicely he will cover it (assuming he hasn't already done so - can't be bothered to check right now!).

If sometimes we fly too close to the sun, at least this shows we are spreading our wings.

My latest match (i was black) started with the moves 1.Nf3 d5 2.c4 e6 3.d4 Nf6 4.Bg5 Be7 5.Nbd2.

I haven't faced this move before: i presume the idea is to take with the knight in event of dxc4.

I continued as i normally would in the QGD with 5...h6 6.Bf4!? 0-0 7.e3 b6. I'm not sure this Tartakower approach was best but I did gain the initative before my opponent blundered in the ending.

Just wondering what some of you thought about this system: i can provide the full game tomorrow.
