2. Bg5 is a nice try and i enjoy it very much  Cheesy Yes the problem is lack of reading material, but in NICyb72 there is a nice survey on 2. Bg5 h6 3. Bf4!?

2. Nc3 leads to positions somewhat congested for both sides, but the theory gives white a tiny safe edge. It's a typical choice for repertoire books.

Thanks to jeroen bosch in NIC, I sometimes go 2. Qd3?!, which at least on the internet is good for 2... Nf6? 3. Qxf5.

btw, dunnington recommends Nc3+h4/h5 against leningrad dutch and f3 against e6 type dutch. This is not so bad too. The most annoying for me was the move order 1. d4 d6.... at least until i learnt a few killer lines against the Pirc (which incidentally are plentiful in supply, more so than against the dutch).

I am fairly sure that either Angus Dunnington in Attacking with 1.d4 or Aaron Summercale in A Killer Opening Repertoire for White (or both) plump for 2.Bg5.

Of course, you also need to consider what to do if Black tries to enter the Dutch via 1...e6 or 1...d6 ^ 2.c4/Nf3 f5.

Summerscale's proposed solution, for what it is worth, is to play 2.Nf3 f5 3.d5!? after 1...e6; and to transpose to the Pirc/Modern with 2.e4 after 1...d6 (he recommends the 150 Attack).

If sometimes we fly too close to the sun, at least this shows we are spreading our wings.
