Question for IM Andrew Martin

Good day Mr. Martin.

I have a question and I hope you can clear up my confusion.  In your Gambit recommendations for ChessPublishing you list the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit as your choice and state you share Tim Sawyer's enthusiasm however in articles on the JeremySilman.com sight you seem to blast the BDG when you state it is "like shopping for a tombstone". I guess my confusion comes from the differing comments.

I'm a classs player and I'm thinking about taking up your gambit suggestions as my repertoire but then I ran across your other article and now I'm not sure anymore. If it is bad why recommend it?  Did you simply change your mind? Do you believe both - it is a good gambit and a bad choice? Is it worse than the Danish Gambit?

Thanks for your time. I appreciate your help.

Chris
