Steffen Pedersen also recommends 1.d4 f5 2.c4 Nf6 3.Nc3 d6 4.Bg5 Nbd7.

However, looking at Vladimir Malaniuk's games I notice that he mostly just plays 3...g6 and hardly anyone tries 4.h4. I wonder why?
I have tried both moves myself.
After 3...g6 I always seem to end up in a cramped position (after White plays e4-e5) but with a pawn more.

In alias line 1.d4 f5 2.c4 Nf6 3.Nc3 g6 4.h4 d6 5. h5 Nxh5 6.e4 I think both 6...Ng7 and 6... Nf6 are good enough.

Kindermann recommends M.Nb's move order. (3...d6 is given an !)

He also gives 1.d4 f5 2.c4 Nf6 3.Nc3 g6 4.h4! d6 5. h5 Nxh5 6.e4! following Reinderman-Van Beers 2001 and Bunzmann-Erker 2002.
  
Don't check me with no lightweight stuff.

That line give complex play but is nothing to fear for black if he is prepared i believe. I suggest 1 d4 f5 2 c4 Nf6 3 Nc3 g6 4 h4 d6 and if 5 h5!? Nxh5 6 Rxh5!? gxh5 7 e4 Qd7! 8 Qxh5+ Kd8 with Qe8-g6 to follow

The Dutch Killer of the Leningrad Var. which Steffan Pedersen mentions in passing in his book and which I have had success with. I was wondering if IM Martin would like to add some analysis or why he didn't mention it in his videos?

These are the basics:

d4 f5---c4 Nf6---Nc3 g6---and now the h4 push which pressures Blacks set up. Any one wish to comment?
