This reminds me one story in the Chessbase magazine about the attractive russian female chessplayer (I think she is > 2000 but not Top 100, dont remember her name) who posed naked for the Playboy magazine. 

In the interview she pointed out that chessplayers dont care enough about their appearances. 

Then Chessbase asked her: "And? Are the male chessplayers interesting in the eyes of an attractive woman?" 
She said: "You are kidding? Their chess abilities are amazing. But seen with the eyes of a woman they are the most uninteresting on this planet!"

I am neither gay nor bi. But who wants to be member of a social group that is considered as attractive and interesting as the annual meeting of the retired stamp collectors? I love chess! But I dont like the strange people who play it.

While on Comedy, this thread somehow reminds me of that infamous Seinfeld episode about pitching a sitcom to network execs, based on nothing. According to George everboby had a show about something, but a show about nothing?? now wouldn't that be something.

Now we have a thread about nothing, and with that useless bit of trivia off my chest, I'm off to contemplate my naval.

Chessplayers = nerds

I dont know if in other countries its the same then in north europe, but around my area you can count that about every second chessplayer has got a profession in the computer business.

Well, most chess players I know are obviously not very attractive people. They dont care a penny about fashion and they are also some kind of strange in their behaviour. But I wouldnt go so far to allege that they are autists.

I think that a lot of chess players have some tendency to autism. Thats why they better trot along the old paths even if they are 10 years outdated.

Would be curious to know if Bondefanger & Darthkrieger refuse the technical progress in all fields or only at chess servers? What TV sets do you have? You  guys manually type: "watch Eurosport now" or do you enjoy a remote control?  Grin
