I am very curious what is behind the new "admin offensive" at playchess. Over the last years they had constantly only 1 admin online (Holger Lieske) and if Holger was not online, then there was just the General channel for help. 
But since some weeks we have new admins, and how many of them! Admins of india, france, spain, asia etc. etc.

What plachess intends ??? Did they recognize that their time has come to make their server in all places the nr. 1 ?

excluding the last 1 or 2 page(s), this thread always contained much valuable information regarding internet chess. The thread became only silly when infantile members (not guests) started to post nonsense.

FYI:  Toppy's comment about Boca Raton must have come in while I was editing my previous remarks about Glenn.  I somehow got mixed up with who achieved what successes.  Eric has done well at Gausdal, The US Open and numerous Boca Raton tournaments, mostly in Florida.  Congrats and envious glances at both of you!

Glenn,

It helps to be anonymous when being inane.  We can't all have done well in Indiana championships, US Amateur Team tournaments and the like, so we hide behind some inane moniker like "Smyslov_fan" or "Fezzik" over on ICC so that others may think we're better than we are.

I just wanted to be a part of the longest and most inane forum thread ever.  So let's see, what to complain about concerning ICC.  Actually I don't really have a complaint.  I'm only dissapointed by the majority of members who don't set their up their account to be able to be found by the "findname" command.  I feel sure I have many old chess playing pals who have ICC accounts that it would be nice to catch up with if only I knew they were there.  Perhaps most people wish to be anonymous there as well.

Bullet is a world of its own, its mouse races based on chess rules, the ratings in this category dont say anything about your chess knowledge.

Massive rating gaps on Play Chess

What's with the massive ratings gaps on play chess 
there are players with 1382 lightning ratings but they have 2069 rating for other time controls that's  huge if they are that good they should have rating in  the same  range you want some examples of huge rating difference?

Topfice has a strong  1911 Blitz rating and his lightning rating  is only 1395 

Momo_2822 1807 Blitz he's 1113 lightning


Jc2005 1243 blitz and lightning 1874?!


So these people are experts at speed chess but they play at the same level as my 9 year old niece at lightning?!

Thats one of the main reasons why chess dont "sells" and chessplayers will be always paid peanuts compared with real sportsmen. The target group of chess events are highly consum-aversive male nerds.

Since we've wandered down this path...how awesome would that be to participate in a simul against a Nude playboy playmate who is a GM? How high an entry fee would you pay for THAT event?!  Shocked
