I used to play the Closed Sicilian Reversed as White, and found that lines with ...f5 were the most dangerous to face, so I agree, go with a setup like that.

The plan with central play looks good.

Try that.

I think Kindermann suggested a set-up with e5 and c6 in his book, concentrating on play in the centre, but I have to look this up.
How about Nc6 and e5, and we have a closed Sicilian reversed?!

7 d3 leads to the english variation (1 c4 e5).

Anyway, black must play on kingside with h6-g5-f4 etc trying to get an attack.

Hi!

Has anoyone got a good plan against the following white set-up against the Leningrad variation:
c4, d3, Nc3, g3, Nf3, Bg2, e3, Nge2, 0-0 followed by a quick b4?? I know it can't be a critical line, but some guy played it several times against me on the internet the other day and it was actually quite irritating to face!

for example: 1.c4 f5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.g3 d6 4.e3 g6 5.Bg2 Bg7 6.0-0 0-0 7.d3!?(d4 Qe8 d5 a5 followed by ...Na6 and ...Nc5 doesn't look critical) Qe8(Nc6 also looks quite good) 8.Nge2 e5 9.b4 and it's actually quite hard to get active play!

I would appretiate any suggestions on this variation Smiley
Thanks in advance!
