Do not forget about the Hübsch then.

The book is to be delivered by the end of July (which I hope it will be) and I imagine published around Christmas time.

Against the Tromp – dull old 2….e6, I am afraid. I had not realised before starting this work that only the English think that 3 e4 is a good move (I don’t; frankly speaking I think it’s a horrible move). The rest of the world plays 3 Nd2 or 3 e3, but then the Tromp is only a move order trick to launch the Torre, no?

Against the Veresov – 3…c5. I have always thought 3…Nbd7 was a strange move. But of course this is a repertoire book only for Black, so nothing about 3…Nbd7.

And if I am not mistaken GM Prie’s thoughts and my own have been moving in parallel – I think that 3…e5 4 Ne2 Bb4 in the Lemberger, and the endgame he mentions, was my own recommendation before reading the Schoupal-Prie game thread, although I’d have to check the text at home.

As an occasional Tromp player, I am also awaiting this book with great interest, for the same reason that it'll make my preparation easier! Maybe for once someone will recommend 2... c5 against the Tromp?

ps. The Tromp is the only "problem opening". The BDG, london and colle can't be mentioned in the same breath!

No, it belongs to these other 'problem openings', of course. 'Annoying ma non troppo'.
Actually, as a Veresov-player I'm looking forward to this book (sure hope he does not limit himself to the Nbd2 variations), as I think it will define the 'main line' that gets played at club level. Makes it easier to prepare for lots of optimistic opponents...

Nice to see the London isn't mentioned. Maybe it will be spared?

Perhaps we should rename this section ?  Grin

There are many books and videos dealing with these deviations quite adequately already. Do we really need yet another?

I am very curious about what lines are recommended against the Tromp. It'll be nice if Mr. Cox will care to tell us more? Smiley

Maybe in this book there'll also finally be the definitive BDG bust (if it isn't busted already).

ps. A nice sequel after this book could be Dealing with All  c4/Nf3 Move Orders to Suit All Opening Repertoires. This would fly off the shelves!  Grin
