Will look into it later in the weekend as I had it in one of my own games and got crushed.
  
If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.

I suppose you mean 9.Nd5 in stead of 9.Bg5.

I have started looking at 9.Bg5 against the Sveshnikov (1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 e5 6.Ndb5 d6 7.Bg5 a6 8.Na3 b5 9.Bg5). 9.-,Be7 is the most common reply.

But there doesn't seem to be a convincing way to get an advantage against 9.-,Qa5+. In games in my database between players above 2500 a large percentage of games end in a draw after 10.Bd2 Qd8 11.Bg5 or white continues with either 11.Nxf6+ or 11.c4 without impressive results (about equal number of white and black wins).

9.Bg5 was (is?) Kasparov's favourite line against the Sveshnikov but I cannot find any recent example of 9.-,Qa5+ in his games. So, any ideas how to get an advantage against it?
