Finally a decent weekend
Ajax seems to be getting slowly back into shape, with a narrow win, while my city Utrecht were the first to beat F****noord in great style.

Ok Mnb you got me now. I figured you must be a lightbulb except for the past glory comment, though of course you keep mentioning people like Van Beveren, Van der Kuylen and some other PSV players.

I did see a different game than you did, Willempie.

I saw Liverpool pressing throughout the second half.  They often sent players up the wing, and even had pressure in the middle of the penalty area several times.  The marking was incredibly tight, and Cisse had very little impact on the game.  But Liverpool took quite a few small risks and deserved the game winner.  

This particular game sorely missed an early goal to open things up. But even so, the Reds played a very attractive game, often stringing together series of one-touch passing left people open for a searching cross or a dangerous shot.  Liverpool had a large number of set plays and looked very dangerous at times.  A lesser team could easily have lost 3-0, even without the two penalties not being called.

I'm not pretending this deserves to be the greatest game ever, but I'm also not going to grouse about the scoreline or the lack of imagination shown by my home boys.  

There are going to be at least three more matches between these two teams, and there will be plenty of goals.  (Hopefully all scored by the ones wearing the Liver Bird!)

Thanks for pointing out the error.   I knew it as soon as I typed it, but still couldn't think of Chelsea's manager's name anyway.  I must be getting old.  

Btw, 

Is it Josay or Hosay?  Here in the US, the comentators were pronouncing it with a soft J, but all the Jose' s that I know are Hosay. I did notice some Spanish pronounciations of names (as opposed to Mexican or Latin American), but I thought the "J" was an "h" sound throughout the Spanish speaking world.

Have we been watching the same match? Chances to score were countable on the fingers of one hand. Lots of stuff going on on the midfield without anything special coming out of it. I mean what can Crouch do when the nearest player is at least 10 meters behind him or a player like Robben when the priority seems to be not to take risks on the midfield (a depth pass seems to be outlawed by Moneynho)?
It is not just Chelsea and Liverpool, to be fair. Half the premier league seems to be infected by the catenaccio virus.
