From the looks of the schedule, the game of the day was Spurs-Arsenal. Local derbies whether on Merseyside, London, Manchester, Northeast (Newcastle, Boro) or the Midlands (Birmingham, Villa) always produce some of the best games of the season.

Perhaps maybe too early to say anything just yet, but Everton seems to be pulling their socks up beating Birmingham & overtaking them in the standings with a game in hand. But they sure need to start scoring goals given their goal draught currently.

Tomorrow's games would be Man U-Boro, Man City-Villa & Newcastle -WBA. All teams DESPERATELY needing wins for respective reasons. So I would expect a thrilling footballing Sunday.

Wigan's up to second place again with a win over Fulham in the 90th minute!  WOW!

Liverpool finally showed it can win against EPL opposition with a convincing win against West Ham.  The game of the day (so far) seems to be Spurs-Gunners, which ended 1-1.  Did anyone get to see any other exciting EPL games that we should know about?

That name is always rendered as "Seedorf" in the UK - is that incorrect?

Players in Brittain should not try to imitate Dutch football players of course, that always leads to disaster.
Honest as I am, I must point out that another Dutchman, Clarence Saydorph, also has an impressive record on taking penalties.
To avoid misunderstandings: I find CS a very sympathetic chap. He has done a lot for Surinamese football - sponsored a sports centre.

I'm sure any of the Liverpool fans on the forum could tell you that it is important to have forwards scoring goals.

Liverpool finally managed to score a goal last night - but only because Steven Gerrard was back in the team.  And it didn't stop the "European Champions" (big joke!) going down 2-1 to the Super Eagles (after losing 2-0 to Fulham on Saturday).

This I don't understand. Isn't scoring the forwards' first and last job? I mean, guys like Gerd Müller and Romario never ever played well, but scored quite a few important goals.

The team aint bad, they just dont score. Even the forwards dont play bad, they just seem to turn into the 3 stooges when thet see the goal.
I am thinking of applying for the job of center forward myself. Surely I would have scored from one of the gazillion chances they have missed in the last 8 games and I am probably cheaper as well Grin

Wouldnt call it bad luck. Forwards dont have bad or good luck when it comes to scoring. And anyway it would have been a draw if it wasnt for an obvious dive.

And anyway I dont throw in the towel just yet. I have seen too many teams making up such a difference Grin

ok, ok, 

Losing to Luton (who??) was painful and embarrassing, but we still have two games in hand compared to some of our companions.  We'll do ok in the long run, and that's all that matters.   

Chelsea is amazing this year, and anyone who watches them should recognise how special they are.  They are the Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, you name the great team, of this year.

Oh, and about the English Premiership:  Liverpool is in great position in Europe is merely an average team (at the moment) in its own league.  Maybe, just maybe, the best football in the world is being played in England regardless of the money.

If it were just about money, the US would have better talent and teams than we do.

And now back to the really important news again: Ajax will not be Dutch champion this year - lucky Ajax has a lot of bad luck these days. As the Dutch saying goes: good teams compel luck. Don't you agree, Willempie?

Those English teams leading in the Champions League: not a matter of English football talent - that hardly exists anymore - but of money buying continental players.

Yea. Spurs are doing well. Best start to the season in years! Its so good to see them where they are now. I really lost interest with Spurs after Hoddle et al left & all those managers who advocate ugly football took over. Looks like Jol is finally restoring things there & getting them to play the way they were known to play in the past. (i'm still sentimental abt them)

As far as Newcastle is concerned.... it sure is nice to have Liverpool for company Grin.  To rub shoulders with the European Champs is really something. Is a 4th place finish ala Houllier a target for this season as well? Grin
