Well, one swallow does not make a summer yet. Moreover the relation is not necessary reversible. Good teams compel luck, but lucky teams are usually not that good. Ajax obviously falls in the second category.
Let us be honest. Beating Thun is really not the same as beating AC Milan. Where is Thun on the Swiss football ranking at the moment? No, Ajax' win does not mean anything.

Neither will I. As a few posters accused me of being too patriottistic, I will repeat here, that I think both Gerd Müller and Romario (and also Cruijff!) better strikers than Van Basten.
I only hope, that the trainer-coach of the English team will share Alumbrado's opinions on keepers. That will make our job easier.

Well, the general consensus, includign the opinion of Roy Keane, is that van der Sar should have made the save.  But in fairness he made a truly excellent save in the CL match last night.  I am not denying that vdS is a good keeper, nor am I making any claims for the current crop of English g/k "talent" - far from it, I think David James in particular should be taken out and shot - merely that vdS is not in the same league as someone like Shilton was at his peak.

This is not a nationalisic point - I would contend that Peter Schmeichel, a Dane, was better than anyone I have ever seen (despite being so beautifully chipped by Davor Suker that time ...).

Nor, by the way, is it an anti-Dutch thing - I would equally contend that the best striker I have ever seen was Marco van Basten.

I just don't think van der Sar is all that good!

Havent seen the game, so I dont know what exactly happened. But unlike certain English keepers a blunder of Van der Sar means that he didnt get a "saveable" ball, so I dont take it too seriously.

But finally there is some excellent news. With appallingly bad football for Ajax' standards, Ajax won their CL game with 4 goals

Yes, not to mention the Dutch hooligans, who have become even more infamous than the English ones. 
Still I think Hiddink and Van Basten do a fantastic job.

PSV beats AC Milan and is first in its group! Who said, that Dutch club football is dead? Well, Ajax is close to it, of course.
Maybe Blind can take some lessons from Hiddink?
