Saw the game. I'll have to eat some grass regarding English goalies. The level could have been much worse, they could have had the Argentinian keeper. That guy is gonna cost them a lot of games at the WC if they dont find a replacement. I think even Ajax would have scored against him.

Referring back to the World Cup qualifiers that occurred Saturday:  I only got to see the Trinidad & Tobago vs Bahrain match.  It was dull, dull dull until the last fifteen minutes or so.  Actually, it was worse than dull, it was frustrating that although T & T was clearly better, they feared Bahrain's counterattack too much to take any chances.  The game ended 1-1, with a return game scheduled.   

I saw that the Aussies were 1-0 losers to Uruguay, who had all sorts of gamesmanship going on before the match.  Was it a good game?  I'm still rooting for the Aussies to win the return match and finally get in on their own merits.  Apart from that, what other games were interesting?

For instance, Switzerland beating Turkey is fantastic from my perspective, but will the return match be as ugly as so many Turkey home games have been?

Woofwoof, you don't understand (or maybe you do very well?). You see, one thing is for sure: sooner or later Ajax will recover. The club always does. That is why I must take the opportunity to mock now.
And of course, next year in Deutschland, it will be Willempie and me against ROW.
Willempie, I agree completely with your complaints on safety measures. I have lived in Zaandam. In case I wanted to watch my favourites play, say in Amsterdam, I had had to travel to Enschede, buy a combi-ticket and travel back to Amsterdam. After the match I had had to take the reverse route. That would have been a journey of about 2*150 miles. As the crow flies, the distance from my house to Amsterdam Arena was about 15 miles ...

Looking at the results of the eredivisie in my paper De Ware Tijd (True Times) I cheered completely up. PSV won, FC Twente won and Ahahahahajax has conquered the next obstacle on its way to the poodle prize: a convincing loss against the always tough NEC. For those not familiar with the eredivisie: NEC is a very, very modest club from Nijmegen, an old Roman city at the river Waal. It is known because of the last bridge conquered by the allies in 1944; Arnhem was the bridge too far.
Willempie, what is the excuse this time? Did the shoes not fit well, so that the Ajax superstars had a little pain in the toes?
Nah, Blind should use you as striker. That hardly can make things worse.
FC Utrecht does not offer much comfort to you either.
