If the future of Ajax depends on a Stuntelaar I fear the worst. It is about as bad as having a Grabbelaar as goalie.

For the non-Dutch speaking readers:
Stuntelaar means bungler according to my dictionary.

Are there more funny names of sportsmen? TalJechin once explained me, what the meaning is of Van Galen in Swedish, but I have forgotten.

I doubt Blind will be able to follow my math as Ajax already turned down my offer of me becoming the head coach.
On the brighter side yesterday a 1-0 win against a relegation team Shocked
Huntelaar and Rosenberg seem to get better though Smiley

Hey Willempie, nice calculation on the rook vs bishop subject. Maybe you can do the same for Danny Blind? Some calculation how the Ajax forwards can score goals and how the defense can prevent them might be very useful.

Glad to see the football thread is activated again. Kind of missed the banter esp on the eredivisie.

The Uterecht & Feyernoord defeats were really heart breaking. I'm willing to concede the title to PSV this season. At least we are still in the CL. Tough game against Inter tho. We'll be back next season for sure. Just hope Blind doesnt get any blinder!

In EPL with the sacking of Souness, the only way for Newcastle now is UP!

Poor, poor Willempie. Ajax loses to FC Utrecht, which might not be to bad for him. But now in one weekend Ajax loses to Feyenoord and Utrecht loses to FC Twente.
Ajax plays so badly these days, it is not even fun anymore to mock.

Some sad and very unexpected news from this town. 
One of the players of FC Utrecht, Di Tommasso, died yesterday night in his sleep. Last year he was voted best player of the club and last sunday he was playing.
The guy was only 26 and leaves a wife and kid Embarrassed

All have/had dutch coaches. T&T, South Korea & Australia have coaches who also coached the Oranje once upon a time.

South Korea had Hiddink, now newly appointed coach of Aussies running concurrently with his term as PSV coach. Advocaat now coaching SK, was PSV coach once upon a time.

Leo Beenhakker now coaches T&T was once coach of Ajax.

I havent been in touch with all things football last few days, so this is indeed very good midweek news. & PSV losing by 3 Shocked is really the icing of the cake.

Now then, a penalty given away in each half......either a case of bad defending technique in the box, bad defenders or PSV is just plain bad. PSV will be out of the CL if they fail against Fenerbahce. Looking at the news....just maybe Hiddink is the bad one. Which coach ever says that a defeat is 'acceptable'???

Rijkaard never played for PSV, nice try Mnb Tongue
He was also born in Amsterdam Wink

I think you confuse him with Koeman, who played for both teams.

Btw what is this about Ajax not scoring? We're through to the next round with a 2-1 win, while unfortunately PSV lost 3-0. That means Ajax has scored as many goals in one CL game as PSV in the entire CL so far.
