	Well the main thing is that his rants arent funny. Van Gaal for example would often scoff at others, but at least he was funny, though usually he targetted journalists.

	Oh, we can be sure it will be anybody's fault but his own or the team's. It is strange, when it became clear that Chelsea were going to become top dogs in England under Mourinho, most football fans welcomed him as a breath of fresh air after years of Ferguson and Wenger. Already after two years his outbursts are treated with the same weary roll of the eyes.

	Well the premiership is hardly interesting atm, much unlike the dutch competition, due to the playoffs at the end. Still I am curious who Mourinho will accuse this time when they lose to Barcelona.

I lost count of how many points we're behind, but we're still there for CL qualufication. PS hopefully Ajax and PSV manage somehow to get through. PSV has a tough job ahead in Lyon, while Ajax has to rectify their defensive blunders in Inter (2-2 after a 2-0 lead.)

	I may not be quoting entirely accurately, but I believe what Lineker said was: "Football is a simple game: 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans win." It was strange that he should put it quite like this, as I believe it was after England had lost on penalties to Germany in the 1990 World Cup Semi-Final, in which case presumably more than 22 men would have been involved, and for 120+ minutes. But that is a minor quibble, of course: the comment cuts right to the heart of the English football fan's psyche. In recent years the shoe has been on the other foot to some extent but I can't help thinking that the Germans are getting strong again at just the right time, and on home soil they will be dangerous opponents in the summer. Worth putting a bet on now - not sure what odds you would get - on Michael Ballack scoring the goal that eliminates England ...

He gave the essence of football in one line. I only know the Dutch translation and dare not to translate it back.

	Whether Newcastle has a football team or not is something of a moot point at the moment ... But yes, Newcastle United is a Premiership team (for the time being ...). They are not doing very well, though, and have recently sacked their manager, the former Liverpool (and Spurs) player Graeme Souness. The club has a certain heritage and it is known for the passion of its fans - although part of me suspects that this is the work of the southern middle-class liberal media romanticising a northern and predominantly working-class city.

	Over here in New England we don't get the premier league on the TV. Heck! I don't even understand half the game of soccer. When we do get a broadcast of an english soccer match it is on ESPN 2 at like 11:00AM on a Wed. morning. I try to watch for fights in the stands but I have yet to see any Where have all those soccer hoodlums gone??? Well I always will root for an underdog so I guess Newcastle gets my vote! Newcastle.....do they even have a team? Heck..if they do I'll love 'em anyway..they got that great Newcastle Brown Ale...stuffs the best! One ignorant New Englander in the USA hoping for more English soccer coverage since are version of football is over!

	"Are there more funny names of sportsmen?" I was watching some curling yesterday from the winter olymics. A german player was repeatedly called "Andy Capp" which I thought was funny (and maybe a bit strange...) A little research today however showed that his real name is Andreas Kapp.... btw "Van Galen", where Galen = crazy

	It may please Mnb to know Ajax won again. With a goal of Huntelaar. Also some new players are announced: Perez, Stam and Gentenaar So not a bad week after all.
