	Most "Anglo-Saxons" are firmly of the view that the Premiership isn't very interesting any more. The Championship is where the action is...

	If sometimes we fly too close to the sun, at least this shows we are spreading our wings.

It was nearly a foregone conclusion that chelsea would win it somewhere mid-season, so EPL became quite a bore! Quote: this thread is a good example of how the threads here live their own life.... It managed to survive to the end of the EPL despite the 'boredom' cos the gate crashing of the more fun & more impt (to some), eredivisie took over. Look-out for something similar happening for next season's thread! The question now wld be whether to continue gate crashing & 'annoy' EPL fans or to form a seperate thread! I'd go for the 1st option

	GM Kosten, I will be sad to see it go, but am flattered that it was so popular. With the FIFA World Cup thread going strong, I think few will miss this one. Expect to see a 2006-2007 version soon though!

	Congratulations to both Liverpool & Smyslov-fan. Tho i more or less expected Pool to win, I certainly didnt expect them to mk it such a difficult job for themselves. With a full strength Pool, its either The Hammers really played beyond themselves or Pool simply underperformed (as the case every now & then). But I would dare say now that if not for the inspirational Stevie G, its kaput for the Reds.

I keep on hoping, that Ajax will lose against any opponent and especially against FC Twente. For some reason I like Ten Cate; I don't feel anything special for others. I agree with you on the Seedorf subject. Haven't I written before, that he is a very sympathetic chap? He has done quite an investment in Surinamese football. It is clear, that he has been successfull in some very strong teams. But it also true, that he almost never played up to his potential in Oranje; I do not understand why. So I can understand Van Basten's decision not to select him.

PS real pity for the hammers, they totally deserved to win the cup. Seems like certain English teams are getting more German, by always coming back.

	All Dutch know, that big parts of Amsterdam are in fact a colony of Suriname. I have read an interview of Ten Cate, in which he made clear, that he felt Surinamese as a boy and not Amsterdam-like. Nonono, you're amsterdammer first and then something else and anyway afaik he is born in amsterdam so your claim is slightly unfactual And the situation is not that bad anyway. Finance is in order and they finally seem to have some consistent players policies. They're not buying weird forwards anymore.

	Imo Ajax these years is such a mess, that even Ten Cate won't be able to clean it. Btw in the first place he is Surinamer, not Amsterdammer. Cruijff and Beenhakker are much too sensible to take the job.

Everybody thinks they signed Ten Cate (assistent at Barcelona), though no announcement has been made. I think Ajax will only make an announcement after the CL final so as not to give Barca any trouble in the preparation. Personally I think he would be a good choice. He is an Amsterdammer, has proven himself in the Dutch league and now at Barcelona and I like his no-nonsense attitude towards the press.
