@hicetnunc

Thanks for providing us with an interesting website.  The two Polish GMs are Kaminski and Blehm.  The site itself is well worth checking out! It's far more than just an advertisement for chess teachers.

Hello !

I've used the professional service of the ChessAid team

http://www.chessaid.com/

This is a site run by two Polish GMs. I bought their personal assessment package, and was very pleased with their work. They also have chess courses packages, so I suggest you take a look  Smiley

Thank you, that's very helpful.  I wonder if anyone knows of any other sites/services, or can recommend someone in particular, with whom to take lessons (besides ICC).  I'd like to look into a lot of options before making up my mind.

Actually, I don't think I need a bunch of "lessons," per se.  What I would like is a strong player (FM at least) to look over games of mine that I've analysed, point out my weaknesses, and give me a study plan for how to improve.  I realise that chess improvement is almost entirely due to the work that you, as an individual, do, but I'd like some direction along the way.  I'm not really looking for the "two hour lesson once or twice a week" deal.  I'd rather have someone I can touch bases with once a month or so that can guide me along a study plan that will help me improve.  Supervised self-improvement, if you will.

Anyone else have any ideas or recommendations?

Here is a link to a page, where teachers selling lessons on ICC are reviewed:
http://www.cluestore.net/new_icc.html

I've never tried taking any, so I can't say if its  beneficial. I'm a bit skeptical myself...

I live in the middle of nowhere in California and am clearly the strongest player in my area.  Currently my Elo is about 2100, though it hasn't changed much over the last few years.  In other words, I don't think my play is improving (though I do learn new things all the time).

I'm curious whether anyone here can recommend someone with whom I can recieve online chess lessons, or lessons by phone, email, etc.  I would like to become a Master (USCF first, FIDE next!), but I feel like I'm going to need some help getting there.  Does anyone know of a reputable online chess lesson service?  Has anyone tried any, and have they been beneficial?  I must admit that I'm a little skeptical about taking lessons online, but it's my only option for now.
