When the programmer finished the PGN games archive (which I only thought of as a 'Beta version') we expected that subscribers would find faults and suggest improvements, however, I think a lot of long-term subscribers have gotten so used to ChessPub.exe that not many subscribers have given the Games Archive a proper go yet, at least that is the only reason I can think of for such a limited reaction to it so far!
Apparently the 'From' and 'To' dates only went up to 2005, and there was also a problem with it picking up games without dates (in the form 00-00-00) - thanks to Georgio for pointing these out, so we have the programmer working on this at the moment.
We have also asked him to add a couple of other small improvements (for instance, if there is a lot of pages it would be better to see '1,2,3 ... 49' rather than have all 49 listed?!) however, if anyone has any other thoughts this would certainly be a good time to mention them!
Regarding sending the PDFs, CBVs, PGNs by email with the 'email notification's system - obviously this would be far more complicated than for 'Chess Today' say, which only sends out the same set of files to everyone each day - we would have to send out different files depending on which sections were subscribed, which type of files were wanted, etc. Still, it might be worth looking into?!
Do any other chess sites use RSS? I have heard a lot about it but haven't seen it in action yet.
I made some more test.
Now the years are OK, the players are OK, the ECO codes are OK, so you can extract games for a player with one or both colors, with a date range, an ECO range, an Elo range, a result, Annotator, all the fields are supported and everything works together, this is powerful.
If email delivery is a problem, and apparently nobody is missing this feature i can survive without it.
Thinking of RSS i was not thinking specifically to chess: java programming, gardening, bungee jumping and chess are more or less the same thing for RSS

.
But you are right, probably this is another feauter chess enthusiasts don't need right now: probably when this will become a need the standard forum softwares will offer it in a simpler way, so like above i can survive without it.
Thanks for the prompt support fixing all the problems, now i can uninstall chesspub.exe from my desktop!
Obviously if i will see some possible improvement i will send you my suggestions, but i believe that now i will have to concentrate on the contents for a while...
