To both,

Thanks for your help! As someone who always recommends to others that they log off and on, or reboot, to almost any technical query, I'm ashamed that I failed to follow this protocol. Everything is fine now, cheers.

Best wishes,
Craig

Craig

What will prolly help is if you signoff and on first. I presume you automatically login, but if your profile is changed in the meantime it wont pickup all changes if you dont relogon.

Well Craig, I just logged in as 'you' (like the colours!) and saw a sticky button in each thread, and a list of radio buttons at the bottom of each of your sections (woth 'move', 'remove' etc.) - don't use the wrong one! Smiley

Dear Tony,

Can't seem to find anything on my threads - I'm possibly being slow however...  Embarrassed

Yes, I can certainly 'sticky' things, can't you? I have a 'Topic status' area when I write an email with various options, and there are also some buttons at the bottom of each page, one of which is as 'Sticky' button. Wink
I think you should have these too, for the areas you moderate - if you don't I will have a look at the Admin centre to see whether something is turned off. Huh

Bad example : those threads always keep 'pole position' all by themselves...

And are you prepared to 'sticky' some topics, such as anything BDG in the d-pawn-deviations. Sorry, -specials...

My question is more for the forum admin (although would appreciate other people's feedback too) - it's something I've wondered for a while as just a forum user, and it has come to mind again now as a moderator.

On several other forums, the moderator has the ability to "sticky" certain threads - in this way they stay at the top of the thread listing regardless of activity. They can be used, for example, to contain forum information (rules etc.) or for the GM/IM section writers to post about their latest update, or even in the case of in-forum games (such as the ones held on the BDG), just save those following along or playing from having to search through pages to find their thread.

I was just thinking, do/could we have the possibility to do it on these threads (it seems a very similar mechanism to forums which allow it), and if so, is there a reason that the function has been disabled?

Best wishes,
Craig
