Taljechin,

Best of luck in publishing this!  Personally, I am more interested in 2.b3 against 1...e6 than I was in 1.e4 e5 2.f4.  However, I am sure I'm in a very small minority. When do you think the title will be available in the US?

Thanks, anyway I suppose you're actually part of the majority - as I think more people suffer as white against 1...e6 than after 1....e5.

The self-publishing company I'm using this time is based in the US, North Carolina iirc - though I think they're about to expand their business to some of the major European countries as well.

OK, Mark, I stand corrected - 2 for sure it is!  Cheesy

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

Well, it's good to know I got one copy sold for sure! At the moment MNb seems to be suffering from football fever, - soon to be followed by football depression over the unlikely final England-Sweden 0-1  Grin

Anyway, I forgot to give some book details: The FRG will be 6x9", 188 pages (single columned) and I think I'll set the price around the mid twenties in dollars.

This is great news, TalJechin! I have been on the verge of giving up this opening due to the 3...Nf6 and 3...c5 lines, so I eagerly await the opportunity to have some light shed on this opening.

I'm sure myself and MNb will be at the front of the queue when it's published.

It will be interesting, probably more so than the fascinating King's Gambit/KG for the creative agressor, as e4 e6 b3 seems much sounder than the kings gambit. Also does not "The Fascinating Reti Gambit" sounds too ambigous?

Just thought I'd let those interested (i.e. Craig) know that my book on 1.e4 e6 2.b3!? should be available soon - within 2 weeks, barring the unexpected of course.

Btw, sorry for the unimaginative title - I had another in mind but noticed a similar title coming out recently. Besides, people seem so prejudiced against the RG that it could need all the help it can get, from e.g. google.  Wink

Btw2, I finally noticed the other Reti thread below, and I think you despair too easily after 3...Nf6 4.e5 Nfd7 5.Qg4! - it's not as sharp as the accepted lines of course, but black usually has a hard time finding counterplay in the middlegame. There are good ideas against Qb6 too, if you just look.

-It takes two to Tango, but at least white gets to lead in the Waltz... Wink

Anyway, this time I've chosen another self-publishing company with a more do-it-yourself attitude than trafford, and to me it  seems quite good. But I'm still waiting for the proofprint so...
Otherwise, they've already set-up a storefront for online orders etc - so it's basically just a mouse click away from published.

I'll be back  Cool - with more info when it's available...
