	I would have put my money on a draw if it was classical time contol. Now I’m putting my money on a usual Topalov Blunder.

	SP wants to go Re2, then I suppose a6; Rxc2 Bxc2; Bf1 Rc8 or something. I can't see Black being worse here, certainly.

	...Qa5! Gosh, I must be so good. Bb5; I was thinking of that but it looks a bit ad hoc. Say...Rd8, so what? White's hardly going to go Bxd7. Or does he have some tactic with f5 and Bg5?

	'Hot actions by both sides', Susie says. Where is White going to develop that c1 bishop, I wonder? a3? Is Black going to play ...Qa5 now? I don't quite see how to meet that conveniently.

	Good afternoon, c'rock. 'A' world champion was what I thought he said, but I agree, one did notice the contrast. Bf1, aha. So he's not going to let the white squares go. You'd think it'd be hard to give mate with that g6 bishop in the way, though. Still, I suppose at some point Kramnik will need to play ...f5, will he?

	We're out of theory, I assume? Any Slavsters out there? I never fancy this line for White - horrid queenside weakness, light-squares dodgy, and you'd jolly well better give mate, but what do I know - nearly worked in game two, and I remember playing in the Phillips and Drew also-rans event while Polugaevsky won the brilliancy prize against Torre in this sort of position. Also I seem to recall that featuring a Bxh7+, so it must have been slightly different.

	Yes, but micawber, that's just propaganda, isn't it? Of course he doesn't consider anything of the kind. It's just stuff he can pump out for the homeboys in Bulgaria to lap up. I doubt Kramnik does 'want' to have it both ways! I think what he'd like is to play 12 games according to the agreed conditions and see who wins.

	Yes as Susan Polgar noted Kramnik want to have it both ways. If he wins, everything will be forgotten and he will be the glorious champ. If he loses, he will sue the Fide, and claim he is still the undefeated champion. Someone else posted he had apparently no difficulty to remain sitting longer at the board during this game. So was his walking about nothing more than a small measure of psychological warfare. Chessbase pointed out the remarkable quote from Topalov with praise for Danilov. (who in my book is at much a crook as Baturinsky) But another remark from the same interview went unnoticed: Topalov considered Kramnik insulting with regard to worrying more about a football match than about chess during one of the games.
