Yes, a4. And now maybe the knight round to f5. Does Black want to play ...Nb6 with counterplay against d5?

d4-pawn and a6 pawn go and White has clear edge (two B and backwards c5-pawn) I think.

...Ned7; what's that about? Somehow ...Bd6 looked natural. Does Topa just want to trade rooks? I suppose that must be right - if he got to cnetralise his king d5 would just be weak, so simplification might favour Black.

After 24...c5, I thought Black was better.  Now I like White.  Way to go Kramnik!

Black looks nice on the black squares. But is a4 going to be a nuisance?

Karpov was a great exponent of this system. I suppose Kramnik's style is maybe a little like his these days.

27.Ne3 (Topalov misplayed the last few moves. He took his active Bishops and made nothing of it.)

OK, I was completely wrong as usual. The man had a plan. White's not looking so bad now, is he?

Was the computer just flickering, klick, or is it still with White after Ned5?

Suddenly comp-evaluation changed over a pawn in white's favour, from -.5 to +.8

Is it that h4 is met with Nh7, I wonder, and Kramnik wants to lure the c-pawn off c6 first so as to have Nd5?

Be3: hmm, I was hoping to put the knight there. What's the idea after ...c5, I wonder.

Ah, finally got it, Nbd7 e5 Bc5 exf6 rxe1 rxe1 and Bxd4. But of course everyone else saw that.

I saw it.  Grin

...g5; gee whizz. Susie P was wanting that.

WHo was it said 'Mr X plays a game I am not familiar with'. Botvinnik on Tal? (or more plausibly someone on jack Nicklaus?)

After 23.Bc1

from http://susanpolgar.blogspot.com/ Quote:
(The position is roughly equal but Black has plenty of play. 22...g5 is possible here with the idea of Ng6 then Nf4 but it weakens the f5 square.)

22...g5 (As predicted. Topalov is going for it again. He is pushing in every game.)
