26...Rc8 looks good to me, but Toppy just played ...Ra8.  Maybe he didn't like prospects of 2N vs R ending?

Fridz prefers the forced exchange with Rc8

Anything wrong with 26.. Bxd6 27 Rxd6 Ke7 28 something Ra8 followed by Kd8 and Rc8?

Wow, finally I get one right. Maybe Kramnik has some play here, or is 26...Ra8 just going to defend the a-pawn easily?

There is Rd1 for Kramnik no? Hell. I too started thinking like Topalov fans - trying to find some solace and activity in any position.

Been a busy day, busier than Danailovs. Will get to my engine in 10 mins.

Maybe - 25 a4, how is Black defending his a-pawn? He needs a good manoeuvre here to consolidate just yet. 25...Bxd6 26 Rxd6 Ke7 27 Rc6 Rc8 28 Rxc8 Nxc8 29 Rc1 Kd8 does the trick, though. Maybe White's going Rad1 here? That might be a good move.

24.. Be7 ouch. Looks like black will untangle rather quickly with this one as now the knight can move.

Maybe it's not so bad - c6 is still weak and a rook there might be a bit annoying; if now 23...N5b6 24 Rc6 and maybe a4-a5 gives White some play; Ra6 would be quite annoying.

And if 23...N7b6 can White get away with Rb8? I guess he must be able to or Kramnik would hardly have played Rc8.

Of course - 21...Nd5. Now if Bd6 the knight on d7 moves and the king comes to d7. White seems to have no play at all. The question is how much better Black is if the position stabilises; intuitively I'd have thought a lot. This might be a very depressing afternoon.

I must be missing something. After Nd5 and Nb6 by black where is white's compensation?

OMG - Qxb4. That must be admitting White is much worse, no?

20...Qxb4 21 Bxb4 Nb6; what's White move? Maybe he has more play than appears at first sight - 22 a4 perhaps? Then if 22...Be7? 23 a5 Bxb4? 24 axb6 wins.

Now....not sure Black can manage to keep Queens on (which he´d like) so it looks like we´re heading for that ending either now or in a couple of moves
