Yikes - the engines apparently go mad when 41 Kxg3 is played. Seems like they think Kramnik’s lost all of a sudden.

Yes. Perhaps your machine, like mine, doesn't have a table base?

He´s played it - what do the engines say? Looks like curtains to me...

There must be an attack coming with the Knights, in fairness though I cant see how White can defend this position in practical terms

Hmm which pawn will go f3 or maybe b3 (after Nc5)

41.Kxg3 played. This looks sensible trying to elimate as many pawns as possible

Willempie - taking on g3 I cannot calculate an immediate win, but some combination of ...e3 followed by ...e5 or ...Rg8+ first looks very dangerous, I imagine it should be winning

Willempie I dont think e4 is possible - ...Nc5+ comes

Edit , sorry you got there before me  Wink  As I said before, this looks great for Black to me - can somebody suggest moves for White?

Doesn't 41.e4 drop a pawn (due to knight fork ...Nc5)?  Sorry - missed your last post - I see you had a different idea for 41.e4.

Topalov's knights are finding good squares.  I think he has developed an initiative.

I'm worried that White is in trouble, perhaps one second-best move away from losing.

I agree that is why I think 41 e4 fxe4 42 Kxg3 may be his best option (I am not sure if it is a good option mind you) as otherwise the board will get swarming with black knights monty python style.

Well for me it is a nightmare to defend for White - he has to watch out for all kinds of things, including ...e5. The Rook + 2 knights can suddenly switch to attack, I think if Kramnik holds this he deserves to win the match, but it just might not be possible.

But.. I could be wrong!

41 f4 looks like a very good resource for white
