I think Black is threatening to get ...c5 in now because the g4 Bishop will be loose. Not sure about Toppys last few moves, but I dont think hes ruined anything either

...Bxc3 played (one move later) and Black's position starting to look pretty desperate.  Topalov takes his first long think of the game.  Is he working out a plan based on d5 break?  Maybe h-file play?

seems like Topalov just has to clamp down on the ...c5 break and prepare the buildup

Should Black play ...Bxc3 here?  Kramnik using a lot of time.  Time pressure getting worse.

Bxc3 allows White to reinforce the d4 pawn and would reduce Black counterplay options....IMHPO

I wouldnt think so - he will need that bishop to helo with defence at some stage.

The "problem" if its one for White is to pick from several attractive looking continuations - I still like the plan of preparing h4-h5. Meanwhile it is hard to see where Black is getting any counterplay.

This may sound a bit slow but there is a plan to watch out for at some stage to open the h-file, maybe not now but at some stage - Be3,Kg2,Rh1,h5 and double rooks on the h-file. There are other attractive options of course.

actually you are right. Shredder gave 29 h5 1.60 while now afterQg2 it is 0.99

29.Qg2 played.  Preparing to play d4-d5 maybe?

Yes but Topalovs move is maybe even more logical - the Knight will transfer to the kingside. His play is making a pwerful impression to me - what do the engines say now?
