	Yes 40...Rg2 is logical. But Kramnik has been thinking for a few minutes now. What else is possible?

	40 Ke1 but still Black can force the trade I think 40...Rg2 41 Bd4 Be5, perhaps. Sue P says White has a tough task to hold but it's doable. I'm sure she knows better than me but I'd say White'll be lucky if he manages that. Ostap; I'm not sure Topalov IS still a bad move away from losing; I think it possible he's objectively lost - but let's say you're right, he still needs a masive trend reversal, and that's the hardest thing in the game. Still, he held game 7 in similar circumstances, although I think he's much worse off here.

	Nothing tactical - she just likes ...Bh2 trading the bishop and leaving the massive e5 knight against the terrible bishop and the split pawns. I'm inclined to agree - that looks dire for White. I am daring to hope that justice may be served.

	Yikes, 39 Bg1 loses according to Susie P, though she doesn't give a line yet and I don't see one offhand. This game could be in Rowson's next book under Trends.

	Hmm, I think White's in grave danger here. There's no way you'd sell Kramnik for 9%. Incidentally, another very courageous opening choice by Kramnik. He's really stood up and fought in this match, even if you say Topalov forced him to it.

	Black very active, but I don't see immediate danger for White so maybe this activity is mosty "optical" - in any event, Kramnik seems to be doing well. Draw still likely, but a win for Black would be SO nice! Topalov has really misplayed this endgame, hasn't he?

	I'm with Tyomkin, in fact I'm not sure I wouldn't give it more than 9%. White's got outplayed recently. The e5 knight is hardly inferior to the c4 bishop unless White can get in a break. Black's annoyingly active and he's also solid. If Topalov doesn't get a grip he might go down here: it's time to stop fooling about moving fast, dig in, and play some good moves.

	Kramnik's pieces gaining some activity. I think White can no longer claim an advantage. In fact, I'd say maybe Black has a slight edge now.
