	OK, well b5 does it look like it forces a liquidation. I'm a little surprised Kramnik couldn't have prevented that, but anyway. At least I'll catch my tube, and the good guy's held with Black and only has to avoid defeat with White to retain his title in the eyes of all right-thinking people.

	Well, she reckons 'we're heading for a drawn opposite coloured bishop ending'. She may be right but down where I play we'd be expecting a long hard struggle. Maybe these guys have the technique just to hold this easily. I'm still giving Kramnik 20% chance to win.

	OK, so that's how he wants to do it; trades and just brings the king to f6 before trying to win anything. This sort of endgame is utter purgatory to defend; probably Topalov CAN draw this but he's in for a long hard afternoon/evening. Karpov won a lot of games in similar positions. Extremely curious. Susie P is fairly Topalov biased, but even so...

	In fact actually I'm not sure what VK did have in mind here. I don’t see how he’s going to engineer winning the h-pawn while keeping control in an opposite coloured bishop ending (b5 x c6 and Rb6 looks rather a nuisance). And his pieces have wandered a little out of position otherwise. So unless he just wants to regroup and keep playing maybe he’s going to have to give it up as a draw now. Wonder why not 40...Rg2?

	Hoping still to win with 41Bf2 is a curious comment, after 41...NxB is a opposite bishop drawn, even if a pawn drops off isn't it?

	Bf2 - of course he wants the knight for his bishop not the bishop. But Vlad's a clever lad - he must have seen that. Although SP's Bxh2 Nxh2; Rd3 was tempting; if the knight captures on h4 it's trapped of course. Any clever chap out there with a machine? I think the two of them must be terribly tired; according to the pundits they've not played this well at all, either of them. SP thinks Topalov's still trying to win with Bf2; I find that a surprising suggestion.

	If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.
