	Castlerock, in this specific position White has not got many pieces to defend the kingside, and no Knight - in any case ...g5 and ...f4 is looking very fast to me.

	I suppose once ...f4 happens it's a question of tactics. Willempie, after Bxc4 dxc4 the new c-pawn isn't protected at all, surely? To make ...Nc4 work you need either ...b5 or ....Nb6 AND ...Nd6. And even then in my experience it doesn't normally help much. I think Keano's right, ...Rf6 and ...g5...f4. But is there time? It is easy to get carried away with White, true - what exactly is he going to do? Could be a very instructive game on the classic minority-attack -v- counterplay theme.

	@Keano …f4 is a standard motif in QGD exchange. Don’t you need some more minor pieces on the board so that black can generate king side attack using white’s lack of space? What is the follow up plan after …f4?

	I think White players get carried away with these positions - Black allows the minority attack and simple recaptures with the b-pawn (I think with a rook on f6 he should be able to defend c6). Then is there not counterplay with the ...g5, ...f4 idea I mentioned. Just because a minority attack lands does not mean it is the end of the world

	Yes. I don't see Black being able to plug up the c-file with his knight. Keano's suggestion of ...g5 and ...f4 looks like a possibility, in which case the knight is good on e4.

	Larry Christiansen doesn't think highly of Nd6-c4 suggesting an eventual exchange sac on c4 or the natural Bf1.

	Topalov castled kingside, so h-file based attack is off the books. Maybe he intends passive defense of c6-square (e.g., ...Rf6)? This doesn't seem like Topalov's style.

	OK, 18...00. So he's not going all-in. I was wondering how it was going to work if he did. But in that case clearly White's justified 00 and I would tentatively suggest he ought to be better. Wonder why Belyavsky didn't do this?!
