	I'm not wild about this. Doubling on the c-file doesn't look very consequential. I find it hard to imagine that White is claiming to be better here, at least.

	Scrap the d-file (the queen would ideally be on the e-file, but needs to cover c6 and g4 and the 7th rank), Topalov cant cover the e-file, which is imo very problematic.

	g4? Hmm, well it does look a little fresh, doesn't it? But I can imagine this idea being in the position: if the f-pawn does move then the possibility of taking on e4 and perhaps moving into an ending with Black's horrid pawns appears. And what evaluation does Crafty append?

	Seems Topalov misses a rook as he cant cover the c, d, e and f-file at the same time.

	I like 22.Rab1 or 22.Qa6 here. It's a tricky position and it looks like Kramnik will have a long think here.

	Maybe Qe2 also envisions a possible Qa6 and Rb1-b7?

	Gosh, Qe2. That must be part of some plan of containment - clearly Kramnik doesn't see his way in on the queenside straight off. I wonder what his next move is going to be, for example. How's he going to get the a1 rook playing? It's possible that Qe2 is a signal of some distress.
