I recall these probabilities from the USCF-Elo system (though they instituted a somewhat different system a few years ago):

67% scoring expectancy for the higher-rated player when the difference is about 130 points (i.e. he would be expected to score 2 points in 3 games).

75% expectancy at 200 points.

90% (actually 90.9) expectancy at 400 points.
99%                                        at 800 points.

I know that the Elo rating is determined by a statistical formula.  So, probability-wise, what are the chances of winning against someone 200 points higher than you in chess?  What about 100 points higher than you?  300 points?  At what point is the difference so large that you only have a 1 in 100 chance or less?


Also, when I say statistically, that would count a draw as 0.5 of a win for both players.
