	Don't know if this is quite on topic, but I remembered this amusing anecdote related by Brian Wall (a Colorado master and one of the funniest guys in chess) and was able to find it again (thanks to Google). At our recent five-minute game last weekend at the Denver Tabor Center, I played 1 d4 and hit the clock. Dan says - You didn't let me hit your clock to start the game.. We try again. I let Dan hit my clock. I play 1 Nf3. Dan - Nope. You already touched your d-pawn. We try again. I play 1 d4 and hit my clock. Dan - Nope. You have to let me hit your clock and then move the d-pawn you touched. Brian to Tournament Director - J. Ceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Dan has started three disputes and I haven't even made my first move yet!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are good friends but the man loves to argue. Does the argumentive Dan remind you of anyone you know?

	Interesting topic Smyslov_Fan. Although I am only used to this occuring occasionally in the chessclub, I`ve certainly experienced that certain types of players seem to thrive better playing on the ICC than OTB. This makes me think of a player on the ICC who usually plays quite fast and says "thx" or something after the game when he wins. Many people find this offensive (I do, but that`s another discussion) and if they are the right kind of personality they cannot keep their fingers of the keyboard, throwing insults back. He used to collect all the insults he got thrown at him in his notes. It was actually quite funny to read. Regrettably ICC told him to delete most of them, so he has only got a few of them now: "lucky piece of s..." "you play so bad how can you have such a rating??" "stupid blitzer" ...seems to be the general way to let out steem when the wrong kind of player lose to him..

	I've played quite a few games of blitz in my time. I know I'm slowing down and using my knowledge rather than my calculating skills more. I don't mind. Too much . But I've been told by a few people I've beaten that I play "like a beginner" and that I didn't show any understanding of the game. I usually reply by pointing out that this beginner just won X games in a row against him. I throw banter back and forth in otb blitz, and sometimes cross the line of decency. (I know, hard to believe, isn't it?) But generally, my opponents and I get along very well and enjoy the games until the score gets too one-sided. My query is really about tossing about compliments, back-handed compliments, insults, and other banter during casual games (either online, in correspondence or otb). What are some of the most memorable compliments, insults and banter you've had while playing chess?
