Well to me it looks like the board is set up wrongly as the king looks to be on d1 Grin

Probably what they're laughing about Wink

You´d think they might notice that before the start, our 2 World Ch contenders  Wink I suppose the cameras and what not would be the reason

Maybe that would make me a worthy contender as I spotted it immediately Grin

Maybe Topalov is a regular reader of this site and has used some of posts to get some inspiration.  Cheesy

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

Actually Topalov does have a past flirt with the dutch leningrad, so maybe its not that unrealistic  Roll Eyes

Btw, Kramnik also played the leningrad system several years ago.

In this VERY important (meaningless, exhibition, preliminary, blitz) match at the site of their world title reunification match.

http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=3351

Scroll to the bottom and you'll see Topalov's pawn placed defiantly on f5 in answer to VK's d-pawn sally.  Kramnik nearly bursts into laughter, while a smirking Topalov is clearly taunting the ultra-conservative Classical champ, "daring" him to mock the Dutch!

Result: 1/2 - 1/2.  w00t!
