Dear Mr. Kosten:

Thanks for the response!

What you're saying makes sense, and I'll keep this in mind for the future.

Yes, we were worried this might happen when we increased the maximum download size from 500 games to 1000 a few weeks ago. The PGN games take up so much space that the database can timeout, apparently.
Has anyone else had this problem? It might just be that from D20-D59 the games are particularly large (Ruslan's annotations are always really thorough)! Smiley

I worked around the error.  I lowered the number of games that I downloaded (from 500-1000 per download to 150-400 per download), and encountered no further problems.

Thank you,

Tom Hendrich

I don't know if this is the appropriate place to bring a technical support related issue with Chess Pub.

I am a member of Chess Publishing.  My username is: NSokolovski.

I am 'rebuilding' my databases, and consequently, was downloading the game & guide files using the Chess Publishing search function.  I completed a download of games from a00 through d19 with no issue, but on the next 'batch' (d20-d59), I received the following message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4158107 bytes) in /home/httpd/php/download_all.php on line 190

I logged out, and re-logged in, but had the same error.  Is there anything I can do?

Thank you in advance for your help.
