Hello, thank for your reply CastleRock.

I noticed GMTonyKosten made an 'important' subject in this section regarding advertisements for other sites/forums. He expresses the natural view that the forum is not for advertisements of any kind. (nor should it be!)

Quote:
Yes, really I was a bit concerned at the way some people seem to think that other Forums are not for sensible discussion, but places to get free publicity.

Does this exclude linking to chess-resources I enjoy as a chessplayer, with the intention of sharing with fellow chessplayers and 'sensibly discussing' them? (as GMTonyKosten puts it)  I doubt so. In that case any link to a foreign site, even a link to a game on Chessbase, can be regarded as advertisment. Would that make sense?

I think your view is misguided CastleRock. It seems like the forum lacks a clear policy on the issue so it would be nice if you would clarify this with Tony.

In any case, I've deleted my previous post and will PM a few people here instead.

Advertising other sites is expressly and understandably prohibited here. After all, this is the forum of a pay site. I don’t see any harm, however, in our guys helping you out. If it is not a pay site, that is. However, I have to say, list of your favourite sites requires modifications.
