One can search by material in many databases, chessbase included (where there is a 'material' tab in the search function that does exactly this).  If you are using chessbase, then you can also specify for how many moves this material balance must exist, which is a useful filter.

Aagaard in Excelling at Chess advises in Chapter 8 that, after creating a "database of relevant games in the opening of your choice," one ought to "then search for endgames only and study those."  My question: How does search for endgames in, say, Chessbase?  Thanks in advance.
